Why the Outdoor Cooler Tap is built for beaches, boardwalks and resorts

  • door Laurens Boschman

The Outdoor Cooler Tap is Join the Pipe's refill station built specifically for coastal and heavy-outdoor use: boardwalks, beaches, parks and resorts where salt air, sand and constant weather exposure wear down a standard fountain fast. It combines a filtered, chilled water supply with a bottle filler and drinking spout in one unit, plus a built-in display that shows the plastic and CO2 impact of the water it dispenses.

Built for salt air and sand

Like every tap in Join the Pipe's range, the Outdoor Cooler Tap is made from AISI 316 stainless steel and certified to KIWA and WRAS drinking-water safety standards. AISI 316 is the marine-grade steel variant, chosen specifically for its resistance to the corrosion that salt air causes in cheaper stainless grades. That is what makes it suitable for a beach boardwalk or a coastal resort rather than only an inland park or courtyard. It comes standard in matte black or matte white, with custom colours available at extra charge, and carries the same 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects as the rest of the outdoor line.

What it does beyond dispensing water

The unit filters and chills the water before it reaches the bottle filler or drinking spout, and its integrated display shows the environmental impact of the water dispensed there, a running counter a venue can point to directly rather than a claim on a sign. For a hotel, resort or municipality, that display doubles as the sustainability proof point a marketing or CSR team would otherwise have to estimate separately.

Where it fits alongside Join the Pipe's other outdoor taps

The Outdoor Cooler Tap sits next to the Street Tap and Park Tap in Join the Pipe's outdoor range. The Street Tap is the more general-purpose outdoor model, vandalism-resistant with an automatic shutoff button, better suited to a street corner or transit stop. The Outdoor Cooler Tap is the pick specifically when chilled water and an impact display matter more than a stripped-down, low-maintenance install, which is usually the case for a beach club, boardwalk or resort guest area. Both share the same certification and steel grade, so the choice between them comes down to setting and features rather than build quality.

Ordering

There is no minimum order. Every tap, including the Outdoor Cooler Tap, is made to order, sold outright or leased through an external leasing partner. For hospitality venues already looking at refill stations for guest areas, see Join the Pipe's hotel page, or browse the full tap collection.
