Tuvalu Documentary

The money that Jointhepipe raised at their christmas auction was donated to some friends of ours, Stephie Fischer and Ryan McManus who are making this fantastic documentary.

"We live in constant fear of the adverse impacts of climate change. For a coral atoll nation, sea level rise and
more severe weather events loom as a growing threat to our entire population. The threat is real and serious,
and is of no difference to a slow and insidious form of terrorism against us."
-Saufatu Sopoanga, Prime Minister of Tuvalu

In February 2009 we will journey to the South Pacific island chain called Tuvalu.
The purpose of this trip is to spend 3 months on the island, with the local people, documenting the crisis
that they are facing. Their country is sinking due to rising sea levels.
We believe it is important to make the world aware of the fact that global warming is having its
first real human impact. That the melting icecaps are not just effecting polar bears and arctic land mass
but that the warming of the globe is actually displacing people, just as an ice age did so long ago. We
feel that this subject is the first proof of humans being effected by global warming and is a subject that
will resonate with people when presented in the right way.
